Professional Experience:
I have extensive work experience in providing programmatic and technical leadership on gender; training and capacity building in gender equality, women’s rights and gender analysis and mainstreaming; strategic planning and gender programming; conducting research and advising research initiatives from a gender and child’s rights perspective; designing competency profiles and managing staff recruitment; development of gender and peace building and emergency preparedness plans; results-based monitoring and evaluation; management and systems strengthening particularly through gender audits and development of institution wide gender action plan development; and partnership and representation.

I am driven to succeed in challenging environments, I am a proven self-starter with strong communication, leadership, team, and organizational skills, who is competent and comfortable working with a diverse group of people from different backgrounds. I am able to effectively manage relationships between clients, senior government officials and agencies, and non-state actors. I am competent in developing effective strategies and policies and have had numerous experiences facilitating strategic planning.

During my career I have consistently demonstrated my strong commitment to organizational, management and operational excellence, my cognizance of the big picture, and my ability to avoid obstacles by setting challenging but realistic goals, providing leadership, structure and momentum to team activities, effectively delegating to team members, and maintaining composure in the face of emerging risks, all the while remaining alert to new opportunities.

Education:
I hold a Master of Science in International Rural Planning and Development, with a specialization in gender equality from the University of Guelph in Canada. My Honors Bachelor of Arts degree is in Political Science from Carleton University. I have continued my education in community development and social change with courses on Community Engagement and Dialogue from Simon Fraser University in Canada and for UN Gender Focal Points with the ILO training center in Italy.
