Professional Experience: |
The last five years I have worked in the fast moving travel, hospitality and leisure industry. This has required me to be a self-motivated professional that not only keeps up, but is often ahead of the market.
Bringing over 15 years of project management, marketing and public relations experience to the workplace, with strong skills in brand management, I am used to developing, running and delivering large-scale campaigns for both small and multi-national companies. I believe in immersive experiences that are relevant and meaningful to a target audience. Credible, authoritative and tenacious, I bring bright, innovative ideas to fruition. Confident with managing budgets, building great relationships with clients and managing multi-disciplinary project teams.
I founded my own cultural and events company in 1997 and spent seven years managing concert tours, cultural exchange, education and artist-in-residence programmes and workshops across the globe, primarily in developing nations throughout Central and Southeast Asia, as well as Central and South America. This entailed collaborating on sponsorship arrangements with multi-national companies, international foundations, festivals and embassies.
Following a six-month sabbatical in 2004, I pursed a new career in journalism and editing, based in Bangkok, Thailand, covering travel, wellness and business topics. Subsequent to editing positions with lifestyle magazines, I became a corporate editor for PricewaterhouseCoopers Southeast Asia, based in Bangkok.
In 2011 I was approached by my current employer to join them as Assistant Director of Marketing Communications at the corporate office, overseeing four hotel brands. As a key member of a marketing team I extended my brand development and direct marketing skills, delivering effective multi-channel campaigns and new concepts deployed across the hospitality brands.
In May 2014 I was promoted within the group to Area Director of Marketing Communications, Maldives, overseeing six of the company’s highest revenue generating assets, tasked with strengthening the profile, presence and international brand recognition operating in the Maldives.
Over 15 years I have worked on a fascinating array of projects that have allowed me to bring strategy, insight and creativity to the workplace. I am as comfortable in building relationships with stakeholders as I am inspiring and mentoring my colleagues. With sound skills and also the enthusiasm to make things happen, and get things done, I am seeking a new opportunity that matches my skill set and offers new challenges.
