Professional Experience: |
For over 25 years, worked with national and international non-profit agencies and managed development and humanitarian response interventions in the poverty stricken, disaster prone and conflict affected areas of Bangladesh, India, Myanmar and Nepal.
During these years, worked extensively on Programme and strategy development for humanitarian and development interventions; Proposal development and project implementation; Leadership and Team Management; Representation, Coordination and Partnership Management, that contributed to our interventions that targets to reduce poverty and suffering of the people and helps them in enhancing their resilience and well being.
My last assignment was with Oxfam in Myanmar, where I worked as Area Manager responsible for implementation of its programme in conflict affected Rakhine province. The programme was implemented in the IDP camps and host villages of three townships of Rakhine. I led the management of humanitarian assistance projects supported by DfID, OCHA, UNICEF and CHAF and ensured quality and timely programme delivery.
While working in India, Nepal, Myanmar and Bangladesh; I have managed various development and humanitarian programme and most of my works have been on improving the situation of Food Security and livelihoods, disaster preparedness, risk reduction and humanitarian response, advocacy and influencing leading to community empowerment, enhance community resiliency and wellbeing. I worked as anchor person for programme development and management of Oxfam Hong Kong funded projects and works around sustainable livelihood, humanitarian response and disaster risk reduction, women’s and community empowerment in Bangladesh, India and Nepal in partnership with local organisations.
I have worked with programme team and partner NGOs on developing integrated programme that addresses issues of exclusion, poverty and vulnerability in the disaster, conflict and poverty stricken areas. The programme was piloted and implemented in Nepal as Livelihood and Empowerment Programme model.
While working as Associate Country Director of Oxfam in Nepal (2011-2014), worked on developing Oxfam’s Country Assessment, Programme strategy and Country Operating Model that directed Oxfam’s interventions in Nepal. I led Oxfam’s food security and sustainable livelihood programme and also provided strategic leadership to disaster risk reduction programme of Oxfam and linking relief and recovery with long term development interventions implemented in southern flood prone districts of Nepal.
Having extensive work experiences on development and humanitarian issues – direct implementation and also in partnership with local NGOs; I am exploring another challenging opportunity.
