Given my background as a data analyst and researcher, and with a master’s education in public health, I have gained a wide range of knowledge and experiences in coordinating various academic and community health projects and programs, which includes the following highlights:
• Steered the coordination of clinical and field activities for students in a public health program.
• Cultivated solid relationships with industry professionals across public health offices and hospitals.
• Spearheaded the analysis of a Health survey data with Epi information and statistical software.
• Conducted policy analysis in collaboration with national and international volunteers and youth groups.
• Evaluated data for a research projects related to public health issues and programs.

My previous qualification in General Medicine – a higher secondary diploma - from the Nepal Institute of Health Sciences was a blend of disciplines related to community health and clinical medicine. The course helped me to acquire basic knowledge of public health. Later, the undergraduate course in public health, from the same Institute, exposed me to core subjects (like epidemiology, biostatistics and research methodology). As a result, I was motivated in a public health research, data analysis, and teaching roles. I recently completed Master’s degree in Public Health from the La Trobe University, Australia. Through the Master’s program study in Australia, I was exposed to a broad range of subject areas inspiring new interests into Public Health Policy and Research. I am particularly passionate about ‘healthy’ public policies where public health is placed at the center of a broad range of public policy areas such as urban planning. My interest in the policy led me to a minor theses project. The project explored possibilities of developing intersectoral collaboration between organizations from different sectors of Government and society to address complex and ill-defined public health problems such as urban poverty. My experiences as a Master's student also includes identifying and analyzing various public health policies such as health insurance policy, food policy, tobacco control policy and physical activities policy.

Affiliations and Achievements: |
I received Australian Leadership Award to Study Masters of Public Health Program in Australia. Australian Leadership Award is the Australian Government Sponsored prestigious international scholarships offering the new generations of Global leaders an opportunity to academic and professional development. Furthermore, I was recognized for my academic achievements, and my commitment to my education, which includes top 15% ranking in the Masters degree program and a lifetime membership in the Golden Key International Honour Society. While perusing my Master’s degree, I was a student member of the Australian Public Health Association. Currently, I am a member of the Nepal Health Professional Council, Nepal Red Cross Society, and the Australian Disability and Development Consortium. I am also involved in the ‘health and human campaign’ with an organization – Swatantrata Abhiyan Nepal – that works in policy analysis and advocacy.
