2005-Present Co-Director, The Sandwatch Foundation -- International
* Active in more than (50) countries worldwide, Sandwatch is a volunteer network of schools (students, teachers and principals), youth groups, and non-governmental and community-based organizations working together to monitor and enhance their coastal environments. Sandwatch is supported by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and other international organizations, both governmental and non-governmental. The network is coordinated by The Sandwatch Foundation, a non-profit organization. * Create, manage and maintain the Foundation’s website (www.sandwatch.org), create/edit the project news magazine, The Sandwatcher. Organize and facilitate training workshops globally, authoring articles and papers on the activities of the foundation for a variety of publications including UNESCO.
2007-2010 Senior Technical Officer, Nevis Historical & Conservation Society -- Nevis
* Managed the Nevis Biodiversity Project (www.bio-diversity-nevis.org) and several other projects. Edited the Societies quarterly newsletter, The Gathering. Represented the NHCS on variety of environmental, educational and cultural committees and at international workshops and conferences. *Sitting member of The Nevis Island Government’s Environmental Assessment Committee which reviews all new developments and their Environmental Impact Analyses (EIA). * Assisted with special projects for the NHCS including GIS training for local students, video production, and digitization of the Island archives. Liaised with visiting archaeologists, biologists and other scientists.
2003-2007 Computer & Science Teacher, R. O'Neal School -- Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands
* Designed and administered the most advanced school computer lab in the region; comprising 20 wireless networked IBM laptops, with associated peripheral devices and the largest selection of educational software in the country (almost a 100 titles in all subject areas, Kg to high school) * Established the only student written monthly school newspaper in the British Virgin Islands. * Established wide variety of ongoing environmental and cultural projects, with UNESCO, JM Cousteau’s Ocean Future Society and more than 30 other organizations and schools worldwide. * Designed and managed websites for several educational organizations.
2001–2003 IT Project Manager, Department of Education, Nevis Island Government -- Nevis
* Supervised all aspects of construction of IBM computer labs for every school on Nevis (7 Primary, 2 High schools). * Helped create computer curriculum for primary schools * Conducted teacher/staff training and technical support programs * Liaison with various overseas organizations, World Bank, EU, IBM Barbados, Cable & Wireless, CIDA etc. * Department purchaser for computer equipment, software and related services. * Nevis Representative on the National Steering Committee
