I hold a masters degree in international maritime law and extensive experience in establishing and strengthening maritime administrations for ensuring-safety, security,environmental. worked with Governments, private sector, development partners and many stakeholders in establishing and strengthening maritime administration Africa. For the last 9 years was engaged in establishing Kenya Maritime Authority, C/man IMO Technical Committee (4 years). i played a key role in the setting up of the Association of Maritime Authorities in Africa, hosting the inaugural meeting in Mombasa. I have worked with Governments, Regional Economic Communities and a wide array of stakeholders, local and international development partners in furthering the maritime sector agenda for the eradication of poverty in Africa. I helped set up the national maritime education and training programs for capacity development in Kenya. To address gender equity challenges in the maritime sector I collaborated with the International Maritime Organisation to set up the Association of Women in the Maritime Sector in Eastern & Southern Africa (WOMESA) to lobby for the inclusion of women development and training in the sector. WOMESA covers 24 countries in the continent.

I am a maritime lawyer with vast experience in national, regional and international shipping. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the University of Nairobi, a Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law and Masters in Maritime Law from the International Maritime Law Institute, Malta. I have also successfully completed numerous other professional courses as detailed in my CV.
