Professional Experience:
I have been working with infrastructure and environmental projects for over 20 years. As an architect I have worked with transport planning, civil construction works and infrastructure design; as an agronomist I have managed agricultural crops and a hydroponics greenhouse system in tropical environment. From 1992 to 2003 I was a traffic and transport analyst at the Traffic Engineering Company in Sao Paulo. In the year 2000 I was appointed a sworn (official) translator and interpreter English<>Portuguese. In 2003 I revised the World Bank report 'Cities on the Move'. Between 2003 and 2005 I held the position of a logistics analyst at a major multinational company, dealing with supply chain issues, Balanced Scorecard, performance indicators and targets. From 2005 to 2008 I worked at many consulting companies in Brazil, where I developed transport planning and environmental reports. Indeed, in 2006 I prepared a document concerning traffic demand management and the reduction of greenhouse gases in the city of Sao Paulo, as part of the Clean Air Initiative sponsored by the World Bank; in the same year I started lecturing on environment, urban planning and transport. In 2007 I was invited by Cape Verde's Board of Trade to visit that country, where I presented a sustainable agriculture project on hydroponics for the local community. In 2009 I lived in Saharan Africa for 6 months, specifically in Libya, where I managed the water, sewage and road network designs for Al Marj and Ad Dirsiyah. From August 2009 to May 2010 I worked in Luanda, Angola, where I carried out consulting activities on agriculture and transport. From August 2010 to February 2011 I worked in the City of Sloug, Libya, as the design coordinator for an infrastructure plan. From May 2011 to July 2011 I worked in Haiti where I drafted the country's master plan, in addition to dealing with the environmental impacts of a highway under construction. From July 2011 to date I have worked as the Head of Contract Management for a contractor in charge of the construction of a major highway in Trinidad and Tobago, under a FIDIC agreement. I have been responsible for the communication with the Client, response to claims, public liaison with local communities and proposal of corporate social responsibility events. Also, together with the HSE manager I developed a plan for the control of erosion on slopes through the application of hydroseeding. I would like to highlight that throughout my career I worked with people from diverse social, cultural and educational backgrounds, and all this experience has positively impacted on my relationship skills.
