Professional Experience:
I have extensive experience in developing and managing international multi-media, development communication, awareness and behavior change campaigns on social and sustainable development issues. I have worked for multi-lateral institutions, NGOs and global media and entertainment companies internationally. As such, I have managed all aspects of campaign development and implementation and teams responsible for media relations, social media, public-service advertising, documentary and entertainment projects, and public events. This has included full management of campaign conception, proposal writing, fund-raising, budgeting, planning, production, talent identification and management, filming, editing, marketing and distribution. I possess strong and relevant skills and qualifications to the position you are seeking to fill.

During my time with the World Bank in Washington, DC, I developed and managed communication campaigns and partnerships with media outlets globally in building visibility and awareness of global development issues. These projects included responsibility for collaborative productions and campaigns with MTV International in the establishment of their global World AIDS Day productions, Staying Alive, with CNN International on the Global Challenges series, Discovery Networks International in producing and airing PSAs, National Geographic Television in the preservation of archived content from lesser-developed Asian nations and others.

I have worked for the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) and the Cable and Satellite Broadcast Association Asia (CASBAA) in developing co-produced content between national terrestrial broadcast companies and international broadcasters such as Viacom, Turner Broadcasting, Disney, Bloomberg Television, CNBC and others. These co-productions and events focused on development issues and generally involved partnership, sponsorship or funding from various UN agencies, NGOs and other development and donor institutions.

As Manager, Development Communications and International Relations at the ABU I was responsible for securing funding and managing collaborative projects involving groups of national broadcasters with multi-lateral institutions such as ADB, ILO, UNICEF, UNAIDS, WHO, UNDP and many others. These projects included the training of producers and journalists and the engagement of national and international celebrities in the development and distribution of co-produced content on conservation, HIV/AIDS, pandemic flu, migrant workers and the trafficking of women and children, among other issues. These projects closely involved many of the ABU’s member broadcasters including China Central Television, Japan’s NHK, Korea’s KBS, India’s Doordarshan Television and others. These projects also involved the partnership of corporate foundations such as Kaiser Family Foundation as well as private-sector media companies such as Bloomberg, Granada/ITV, CNN and National Geographic.
