Professional Experience: |
I am fortunate to have a comprehensive set of professional experiences. I have studied gamma-ray spectroscopy and served drinks in a popular nightclub. Oilfield service companies have paid me to migrate seismic data and manufacturing companies to program CNC machines. Top-tier peer-reviewed journals have published my research and I have played in a rock and roll band. I have erected steel buildings and coupled optics tables to float as one. Some share and others may exceed my abilities, yet few can parallel the range and diversity of those I hold
After completing graduate school, I spent more than nine years as a Seismic Data Processing Geophysicist. This position required me to:
Analyze frequency and amplitude content using correlation and statistical analysis techniques Deconvolve wavelet filters and inverse homogeneities. Remove anomalous noise from the signal Develop subsurface earth velocity models Surface consistent amplitude correction Migrate signals to true location via appropriate algorithm Deliver weekly client presentations Prepare regular progress reports both internally and for the client. Maintain communication with clients Coach and mentor a seven-person team on abilities, goals, and limitations to maintain integrity and production standards Review programs designed by peers and subordinates Network with other teams to keep abreast of developments Research and develop new algorithms to cut cycle times Create quality control presentations for every processing step performed Traveled to India to play a key role in establishing the companies’ presence with the expansion of a new office Managed expansion to double the compute node and storage network Unrehearsed training of fifteen person Indian groups in both formal and informal settings
Prior to and during my first year as a university student I worked as a CNC Programming Machinist for over five years. The included but not limited responsibilities of this role entailed:
Developing an efficient strategy for machining parts from start to finish for various industries, including aerospace medical Design and set up fixtures to enhance efficiency and maintain tolerances Program and operate the CNC machine with Fanuc controls Perform incremental and final inspections of parts
My first career as a construction worker began as a part-time job during high school and spanned the next ten years. Of the many duties I performed during this time, my primary responsibilities were to: Pour and finish concrete Lay cement block Erect steel buildings Tend to senior masons.

Education: |
Attending Miami University, located in Oxford Ohio, I attained a Master’s degree in Applied Physics focusing on quantum optics in 2006 with a GPA of 3.56/4.00. Applied Optics, a top-tier peer reviewed journal, published my thesis. During this pursuit, separate journals accepted two additional papers of mine for publication. In addition to my studies, I also served as physics teaching assistant and a private physics tutor.
With a 3.50/4.00 GPA, I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theoretical Physics at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 2003. This endeavor, which began as an engineering focus, also included an advanced independent study of gamma-ray spectroscopy. While earning my undergraduate degree the university employed me to grade papers, set up lab experiments, and tutor physics sessions.
