Mr. Sessanga is a seasoned Ugandan finance and administration professional with over 14 years’ experience at a senior level working for major private sector and INGO sector firms. Until end of February 2015, he was the Director of Finance with Global Communities (formerly CHF International) in Rwanda. Previously, the Director of Finance and Administration with CARE International in Uganda; and prior to that the Finance and Systems Manager with OXFAM GB in Liberia. He has extensive experience managing all aspects of the grants management cycle, including development of grant management policies, solicitation for competitive bids, providing financial/compliance oversight and capacity building of grantees. He has worked as a member of the senior management team in the organizations he has worked for over the last 14 years and is quite adept at building productive relationships with all sections of the organization and influencing positive action at the senior management level. He has developed a strong understanding of a variety of Donor rules and regulations and their application in the effective management of program operations, and has successfully coordinated many successful audits including over five A133 audits (which are Compliance audits). Mr. Sessanga has worked for a number of major INGOs in different countries of Africa and at a Regional level as well, (including ActionAid in Uganda & in Tanzania, OXFAM GB in Liberia, Healthnet TPO in the Great Lakes Region & Sudan); and with a variety of Donors in the INGO sector including institutional donors like USAID, DfID, NORAD, DANIDA, ADA, SIDA, , UN funding organizations like UNFPA, UNDP and a wide array of foundations such as the Ford foundation, Wellspring foundation, Warren Buffet foundation, Walmart, Bill and Melinda gates foundation etc. He is therefore widely exposed and has a firm understanding of the rigor of effective donor relationship management. He has private sector experience with Shell Uganda and AGIP Uganda limited, as well as project management and private audit practice all in Uganda, and is adept at applying some of the private sector business principles in improving operational efficiency and management in INGO operations. Mr. Sessanga has been part of the development of many successful proposals and in most cases has led the cost proposal development effort and participated in the negotiation of the final award with the donors and subsequent donor management processes. He possesses solid computer skills and has led the design, implementation and administration of computerized financial accounting systems including SUN Systems, SCALA, Algresso, Solomon accounting, PeopleSoft, QuickBooks and others. He has successfully implemented SUN systems in Actionaid Uganda and in the HealthNet TPO regional office; and Solomon accounting for AGIP Uganda Limited.

Oversaw the identification,raising,documentation and reporting of more than 7M in cost share.
managed over 5 A-133 audits in the last five years and all went perfectly well with no significant audit issues.
To of our local partners were successful in recieving direct funding from USAID in the recent USAID forard driver in Rwanda. I provided oversight responsibility for grants management and capacity building of partners in finance, administration and compliance
