Professional Experience:

I am actually working as a Senior Public Sector Consultant for Latin America and Caribbean Region in the World Bank. All my life, has been driven by sustainable development, circular economy, green economy, gender inclusion and child protection all issues close to my heart. That is why I felt that this position could be the perfect fit and the best opportunity for me, to work on an environment that cares for people and for the planet. Working for the WB, I coordinated 4 countries public officials and two units within the bank on providing data for the Country Fiduciary Reviews that are now under the implementation phase.
I began my career as a community officer working closely with the community in planning, coordinating, facilitating the activities of the project. Then I had the possibility to make a jump in the public sector and get acquainted with sustainable development goals and the role of the government toward achieving these objectives. This was the time that saw me managing for change. Everything was new in the concept of sustainability and every measure was to be taken accordingly and appropriately. Working in the Ministry of Transport as Director of the European Integration Unit, I learnt more on the UN Sustainable Goals and the interventions considering the environment. I had to plan, coordinate and manage the work of eight employees in my division.
I worked as Sub-Grant Officer for Terre des Hommes organization and during this time I was responsible for reviewing the applications for funding, coordinate with the Evaluation Board and the applicants on providing additional information regarding their project idea.
I’ve also been part of UN Women as a Consultant in a Gender Responsive Budgeting Program and I had to coordinate plan, organize information sessions to the public sector officials and to the local NGOs. I was in charge of compiling terms of reference, requests for proposals and work on the whole procurement processes, such as request for goods/services, purchase order, order dispatch, contract management, payments and close out.

Education:

I hold of Master of European Union Studies in 2017 and had the opportunity to learn and write about Circular Economy and Green Economy. I hold also a Master of Science in Economics in 2001.
I have been accredited in June 2022 by the Chartered Institute for Procurement and Supply (CIPS) with an Advanced Certificate in Procurement and Supply Operations. As a very important part of this journey, I had to learn in depth about Socially Responsible Procurement and the importance to act urgently and massively towards developing toolkits and actions to tackle the problems that have been ignored since the industrialization time. I hold also a Prince2 Foundation Certificate in Project Management. I am fluent in English and Italian, intermediate in French and fair knowledge of Greek and German language.
