Peter Rehwinkel is one of the world´s most renowned experts in Disaster & Crisis Management. He has led several national and international teams in disaster response and recovery. Currently he is an international professional speaker and trusted consultant to business leaders, politicians and organizations. Peter Rehwinkel was a Netherlands Member of Parliament, Senator and Mayor of major Netherlands cities. Also he fulfilled the role of ´rapporteur´for United Cities Local Governments (UCLG) and developed high-level relationships with World Bank, various United Nations agencies such as UNOCHA; UNISDR; UNDP and UN-Habitat, the European Commission, and crisis assistance organizations being USAID and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). During his time as Mayor he took executive crisis response responsibility in a number of challenging crisis events. For businesses, he gives insight in crisis themes like cyber attacks, strikes, hostile takeovers, etc. He is a Ph. D. in Government Law and has published some books in this area. Peter Rehwinkel is leading International Disaster Crisis Management (IDCM) with its base in Barcelona/Amsterdam.
