Eighteen years in Morocco as educator, researcher, trainer; sixteen years in United States (primarily New York City) as research scholar on Arab and Muslim communities, and educator and trainer for of pre- and in-service teachers; six years experience in education and development in Palestine with USAID-funded projects implemented by AMIDEAST, with whom I have been employed full-time since June 2012.
Education:
Ph.D., MPhil, and Master's in Anthropology and Education from Columbia University (Teachers College); taught courses in international education and research methods at Teachers College from 2005-2012; since 2008 have been teaching online courses for Drexel University's MS program in Global and International Education.
Affiliations and Achievements:
--Program evaluator of a USAID-funded school reform project in Palestine implemented by AMIDEAST/West Bank and Gaza;
--Designed, directed, and co-delivered training of trainer curriculum for Palestine's Ministry of Education;
--Wrote organizational and training/trainer standards for Palestine's National Institute for Educational Training;
--Designed K-12 curriculum for intercultural studies program at a American international school in Morocco;
--Principal investigator for research and publications on Arab and Muslims in the Unite States;
--Principal investigator of national study of teaching practices in Palestine higher education.
--Wrote successful grants for donor-funded research at Teachers College, Columbia University.
