In my almost twenty years of experience, I have held successively responsible management positions in a variety of organizations. While the bulk of my career has been within the transport sector, my specific duties have generally required proficiency in oral and written communications, public relations, project management, and staff leadership. My career has enabled me to regularly interact with a variety of people ranging from elected officials and senior executives, to members of the public and the media. I understand the criticality of developing effective internal and external relationships, and my management style is characterized by expecting results, encouraging individual achievement, and respecting two-way communication.
I have experience working in organizations of varying sizes ranging from under 100 to +20,000 employees, and have consistently earned the trust and respect of colleagues, which has facilitated my ability to contribute effectively and earn promotions. I also recognize workplaces are dynamic environments, and responding to these changes can include difficult decisions regarding resource allocation, staffing, and modifications to objectives. There have been times when I have had to make and communicate these decisions, and I understand how to do so in a manner that benefits the organization’s goals, yet minimizes the erosion of goodwill. I pride myself on being an efficient employee, who learns quickly, values collaboration, and laughs easily. Most recently, my reporting structure spanned thousands of miles, yet I have also experienced having my supervisor and direct reports in the adjacent offices. Also earned Masters of Science degree in Intermodal Transportation Management from the University of Denver in Denver, Colorado (USA), which included an international study component in Hong Kong and China.
