Professional Experience:
Conducting Training needs analysis, identifying training target population and specifying training objectives. Experience in developing training curriculum in line with the analysed needs. Extensive experience in developing training programmes suitable for the target group identified. Extensive experience in developing training strategies relevant and suitable for the training target group as well as according to the specified learning objectives. Experience in evaluating training programmes and writing training reports. As the United Nations Police Training Officer at P-4 I developed the training directives on behalf of the Police Commissioner and developed the Police Training budget working with the Integrated Mission Training Centre. I also developed the data base for all courses conducted.
I have experience in Pre-deployment training of both police and civilian personnel. I have done training consulting work with one local NGO in Zimbabwe working women as victims of crime and abuse. I have also worked with UNDC as a co-facilitator for a consultant working on policing violence against women and children. In 2014 I did the review of the training programmes for the Southern African Regional Police Chiefs Cooperation Organisation (SARPCCO). In 2015 I headed the team that developed the newly introduced training programme in Strategic Leadership run at the Interpol Regional Bureau in Harare. I also developed a module in Research Methods and Statistics, which I facilitated until I got the post of United Nations Police Training Officer (P-4) in March of 2016. I am currently the Commandant of Police Basic Training and I have just completed the restructuring of the basic training programme which will be certified by the University of Zimbabwe with a Diploma in Police Studies done in two years. I have also been invited as a part time lecturer in the Master of Science in Peace, Leadership and Conflict Resolution programme with the Zimbabwe Open University. I am also currently a part time lecturer at the Police Staff College and I am taking Community Development and Project Management Courses at Degree level. I am working on a paper which I will present before Directing Staff for Botswana Defence Staff College, Angola Staff College, Malawi Staff College, Namibia Staff College, South African National War College, Zambia Defence College and Zimbabwe Staff College on Policing in Peace Support Operations running from 09 August through to 13 August 2021. I am currently on a shortlist for consulting work to conduct training needs analysis for the SADC region for Peace Support Operations for the three components of police, military and civilians. In 2010 I was part of the pioneer training team in Botswana that prepared the inaugural Southern African Development Community (SADC) Standby Brigade that did its first exercise in Lohathla in South Africa, code named 'Exercise Golfinho'. I have also conducted joint training sessions for the the main peacekeeping components of military, police and civilians at the SADC Regional Peacekeeping Training Centre in Harare. During my tenure as United Nations Police Training Officer, I worked with United Nations Country Team and other developing partners in developing the capacity of the Sudanese Police and one of the key achievement was the development of Police Standard Operating Procedures in key areas of Policing as well as capacitation of the local police with the relevant fit-for-purpose police infrastructure and some tools of the policing trade. I have written a number of articles on training some of which are pending publication in the Police Magazine. I am self driven and eager to learn from everyone around me. I also enjoy sharing information with others for the benefit of training.
