(ii) providing research and team leadership, and collaborating in multidisciplinary and multi-
organisational research teams, and with communities and industries;
(iii) developing understanding and theory of the values and actions of individuals, households and firms
as they relate to the natural environment; and
(iv) translating research findings into policy advice.
2. Disseminate research findings through academic avenues, media and other avenues in order to support knowledge-based decision making and research up-take.
3. Influence the strategic direction of research programs and organisations.
4. Contribute scientific expertise into planning, policy and program development, and review processes through participation.
5. Provide education and scientific training to post-graduate students and early and mid-career researchers.

Research methods: Participatory action research with regional communities, industries and indigenous groups; empirical investigations using a diversity of data collection methods (including surveys, interviews, focus group discussions); benefit-cost analysis; systems analysis; bio-economic modelling; strategic impact assessment; scenario design and analysis; advanced statistical techniques; choice experimental design & modelling, multi-criteria analysis.
