I have worked in India and Africa and have over 10 years of Project management and Communication for Development experience. I have developed strategies and implemented a number of project related systems and procedures. I work well with community groups and have also worked with State Governments at the highest level. Professional Experience: |
I have over 10 years of programme management and Communication for Development experience in the Development sector and a record of successes in getting initiatives off the ground and flourishing. I have worked in emergency program, and contributed extensively in Health and Nutrition and Child protection issues in India and Nigeria. Over these years I have delivered high quality programmes, led programme management and growth, managed organisational risks, and led a number of multicultural, high performing thematic and operational teams. I have also led advocacy initiatives, and have a working relation with donors and Government.
Program Management
With every role, I have increased in capacity and managed a team of upto 4000 members at every level. In my last role with Unicef Nigeria, I worked on the budget of 1 Million USD per annum, managing the entire State level program operations and Administrations. Areas of expertise also included team building, creation and use of result based tools and implementation of the same for sustained results, ownership of the programs and for Monitoring and Evaluation purposes. Reporting and Documentation captures with clarity, the planning and implementation of the work done.
Communication for Development
Last 5 years of my work has focused on managing Communication for Development programmeI have worked on large scale projects towards reaching the communication objectives by planning Communication startegies and implementation of the same Have groomed and managed a team of Social mobilizers and communication consultants at various levels towards focused actions and results. As a result, have been able to overcome some of the core communication barriers within the communities and promote good behavioural change practices.
Partneship and Relation building
I have worked in a multi sectoral setting with both National and International members from home organization and those of partner bodies, I have built strong relationship with Government and other stakeholdres, in order to work in ccordination and for the purpose of Accountability and transparency of the program. My Advocacy and Negotiations skills have resulted in bringing issues to the table from Government partners, and thereby resulting in improved program delivery
Initiatives and Innovations
Through out my career at different levels and roles, I have worked beyond the normal set up and thought out of the box to bring solutions to issues within the program as well as for operational purpose. I have planned and designed one of it’s kind events that has recorded successes towards relationship building in communities, as well has developed mechanisms and tools to capture program successes. Some of the tools like Accountability framework template is now adopted by state Government and in practice.
