Professional Experience: |
During my sixteen years tenure with the UN, I provided support to member states and development partners to create business-friendly environments in Africa. My key focus area has been reducing administrative barriers and building and strengthening institutions of economic governance. My efforts in the past two years concentrated on helping members’ states develop legal and regulatory frameworks, and promoting good economic and corporate governance across the continent. Prior to joining UN, I managed and operated, as a partner, a consultancy firm which focused on building the organizational capacities of civil society organization. My experiences also include nearly eight years of working as an analyst of business development with a privately owned and operated Electric company in New York, USA. I also served as a civil servant in the State of New Jersey working as a regulator/price analyst with the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities. As a regulator, I was responsible for following tasks: Analysis of the impact of energy/electricity price changes on residential and commercial users. Projecting demand for electricity and advising the significance of this and other trends to senior management. Coordinate economic analysis and environmental impact studies of proposals for the development of alternative sources of energy. I was also responsible for designing pricing schemes for energy/electricity produced and sold by non-utility independent power producers (IPPs).
