Professional Experience:
I have an experience of working in 6 highly critical and big states of North India with managing more than 100 partnerships and have headed the programmes in 4 of these states. My core profile has been grant management, partnerships with programme implementing organisations, designing campaigns and evidence based advocacy processes, monitoring and evaluation and budget controls and management. My thematic experience encompasses issues of child rights, human rights, humanitarian aid, self governance, health & malnutrition and child protection. I have worked in various geo cultural and socio economic contexts such as conflict areas, desert patches, hilly terrains and forest areas with most marginalised groups on the basis of social constructs of India like caste, gender and patriarchal contexts. I am experienced in implementing and designing relief as well as rights based programmes. My profile of grant management also encompasses aspects of budget management, financial risk assessment and monitoring, organisational development areas such as governance and statutory compliances. I have a potential in understanding social policies and assessing alignment of domestic enforcement mechanisms with International laws and conventions. The programming components on verticals of malnutrition and health, child protection and human rights are in alignment with the standard norms of national parameters as well as WHO and UNCRC for health & malnutrition & child protection respectively. I lead a team of experienced development professionals to ensure quality monitoring and evaluation processes as well as advocacy strategies a various levels. My role also includes engagement with policy makers, the media, academecians, peoples representatives and thematic experts for creating a synergy in the targeted programmes.
Education:
Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Development with specialisation in women & child development (2 years full time masters) from Xavier Institute of Social Service; one of the premier institutes of India. Post Graduate diploma in Human Rights Law as a contact learning programme from National Law School of India with subjects on UN conventions, treaties and optional protocols. Graduate with honours in Economics and political science and English as subsidiary subjects (3 years full time) from St. Xaviers College. Intermediate in Science with Physics, Chemistry & maths (2 years full time).
