Ms. Yacoub has over 25 years of work experience in the Middle East and North America. Salam has experience in start-up operations, business development, business process improvement and grant management. She has expertise in strategic planning, organizational performance management and measurement, grant management, program evaluation, and quality improvement methods. She is fluent in Arabic, English, and French with knowledge of Spanish and Italian.
Ms. Yacoub is presently Senior Operations Manager at Educate A Child (EAC). Aligned to UN mandate, EAC is a global program that aims to trigger significant breakthroughs in providing out of school children (OOSC) in the world, faced with extreme poverty, cultural barriers, and conflict-affected environments an opportunity for a full course of quality primary education (www.educateachild.org).
In her day to day operations Ms. Yacoub oversees a significant number of multimillion dollar global grant projects. In this respect, Salam serves as primary liaison between EAC and its strategic Partners UNICEF, UNESCO, UNHCR, UNRWA and International NGOs. In addition, she is responsible for coordinating internally with EAC and EAA’s senior management, technical education specialists and advisors, legal counsel and financial team to ensure the end to end project management of each partnership, including reporting, monitoring progress against budget, risk management and program governance.
Prior to her work at EAC, Ms. Yacoub worked as Associate Director for Operations and Marketing at the RAND-Qatar Policy Institute (RQPI) in Doha, Qatar, (www.rand.org) where she was responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, outreach, administration and fiscal management of all RQPI operations in the MENA region. Ms. Yacoub built strategic relations with internal and external stakeholders, including high level government officials and key personnel. Salam also served as secretary to the board of overseers at RQPI, chaired by world renowned individuals.
