Professional Experience:
Caroline den Dulk has over 26 years work experience of which 21 years working in the context of development cooperation in six different countries working with United Nations organizations as well as non-governmental and bilateral aid organizations. With extensive diversity of experience between Africa and Asia, her career focused on areas of Advocacy, Communication, Change Management and Partnership.

Being part of the UN/UNICEF country management teams in Ghana, Viet Nam and India, Caroline den Dulk has been closely involved with strategic country planning and programming exercises, as well as with the reporting and documenting of results achieved and success stories.

She has been at the forefront of a major change initiative for the UN in Viet Nam where she led the communications teams of five different UN agencies to merge into one organizational unit. As the One UN Communications Manager, she managed a very complex and groundbreaking organizational change process, resolving issues in human resource management, business procedures and joint work planning and implementation.

Caroline den Dulk has solid and often highly innovative experience in leading partnership and resource mobilization initiatives. Working closely with the UNICEF National (fundraising) Committees and initiating several private sector partnership initiatives provided her with a good understanding of working with major and individual donors, as well as with the business community.

During her tenure with UNICEF India she has managed to better conceptualize and harmonize the relationship between Advocacy, Communication for Change, and Public and Partnership Relations. Due to the work in Advocacy and Communication, Caroline den Dulk has experience and knowledge on a very broad spectrum of issues, ranging from the key social-economic development challenges in countries, to specific issues dealing with the situation of women and children, and cross-cutting areas of gender and participation.
Education:
Caroline den Dulk graduated with a Master’s Degree for Training and Development with the University of Hertfordshire in 2000.
She completed a certificate programme with Cambridge University/UNICEF for the Senior Leadership Development programme. Key areas of strengths are in planning and coordination of programmes, facilitation of programme strategy development and partnership building with civil society as well as the creation of corporate alliances.
