Professional Experience: |
I am an International Education and Capacity Building Specialist with 24 years of experience.
From 2011 to 2014 I served as Program Director and led the program design and implementation of a USAID-supported basic education program in Tanzania. I led a team that developed a comprehensive suite of teaching and learning tools in reading, science and math, with a focus on ICT-based strategies, in lower primary schools; and a teacher professional development program. I managed the program, supervised and trained project and government staff and contractors; led several partnership and research initiatives.
From 2009 to 2010 I led an instructional design team in India on a national youth vocational blended learning program for International Youth Foundation. From 2008 to 2009 I managed a community education program in Laos on child protection, rights, education, health and nutrition for World Vision.
From 2004 to 2008 as Sr. Education Specialist on a USAID-supported project in India, I designed and implemented programs; supervised and developed staff; designed training and M&E; represented project with governments, donor and conferences; and reached 5 million+ primary school children across four states in India.
In 2003 as Education Specialist for EDC I developed local staff and implemented several basic education and community development programs in Africa and Asia.
Recently as a consultant I have conducted evaluations on reading programs, ICT & education and youth development programs in East Africa.
From 1993-2002 I worked in the private sector as an Instructional Designer where I developed staff capacity building programs primarily for U.S. government agencies such as EPA, FEMA and DoT.
