Professional Experience:
I have worked as a school teacher, a scientists Programme Manager and Assistant Director at the British Geological Survey, Full Professor at the University of Leicester, UK and now Director in the Pacific. For most of my career I have worked in international development in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Mongolia, Guyana, Solomon Islands, Fiji and shorter spells in parts of Africa, Pacific and Asia. I have been a leader of organisations of up to 600 to 800 staff and $80M to >$100MUS. My main areas have involved geoscience for development: hazards, risk, economic development, infrastructure, institutional strengthening, advising Governments,geo-environment, climate change etc. I ahve taught in a range of educational institutions.
