David has over 5 years of experience in International Development working as an academic and consultant. David has particular knowledge and expertise in the link between education and social and economic inclusion/exclusion, children and youth, ethnicity and exclusion, migration, philanthropy and development. In addition, he has worked on policy areas including educational policy, language, public-private partnership in education, low-cost private schooling. David is well versed in conducting quantitative and qualitative social research, including methodologies such as interviews, focus groups, and ethnography. He is experienced in connecting research to policy; teaching and facilitation; policy analysis; and monitoring, evaluation & impact assessment.

I have an outstanding educational record with a PhD in Social Anthropology and a degree in Comparative and Cross Cultural Research Methods (MSc) from the University of Sussex. I also hold an MA in International Law and International Relations (MA) from the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain. Finally, I hold a BA in Cultural Anthropology (with great honours) from the University of Florida, USA. The excellence of my doctoral research has been recognised through the award of a number of competitive grants including the Caja Madrid Foundation Award for two consecutive years, the Teaching Studentship from the Department of Anthropology at Sussex and most notably the Sutasoma Award from the Royal Anthropological Institute.
