Professional Experience:
My most recent position with FOCUS Humanitarian Assistance in Afghanistan as the Senior Program Officer, I managed the implementation of project activities by providing technical and administrative support to field teams for rural economic livelihoods and humanitarian assistance programs to communities in transition. I also wrote donor reports for USAID/OFDA, AusAid, UNDP and FOCUS Global Office and coordinated with different departments for the development and securement of $1.6 million for WFP (FFW, FFA, FFE) grants and led in the development of UNOCHA CHF and Aga Khan Foundation/FOCUS FICC cash assistance proposals and concept notes. My duties also included researching new funding opportunities and cultivating and maintaining positive donor/partner relations and representing FOCUS at relevant meetings, UN Cluster DRR and cash assistance working groups and international conferences within the Afghanistan humanitarian community.
In addition, my experience with USAID in Afghanistan as a Field Program Officer, I oversaw a portfolio of USAID-funded programs, and a budget ranging from $2 million to $6 million. This consisted of liaising between USAID and its implementing partners, UN officials, Afghan local and regional Ministry officials and community leaders to build capacity in order to implement community development programs to promote peace and stability in Kandahar Province. Projects included health, emergency response, community development and empowerment, district services, agriculture, social outreach, rule of law, rural/micro finance and infrastructure. Duties also included participating in weekly working group meetings to help guide the programs with senior level staff and field personnel. As a member of the USG interagency Mobile Outreach Support Team (MOST) I was also responsible for providing overall project support and backstopping, particularly working closely with the field teams by providing technical and administrative direction for program implementation, as well as supporting the development of new business in the region. I also served as the On Site Monitor for several USAID programs in Key Terrain Districts which included traveling to program sites to monitor and evaluate and work with local staff to ensure good performance of the program.

My interest in international development began during my time in the Peace Corps, where I wrote USAID and UNICEF grants and supervised completion of community projects in Paraguay. I later returned to Paraguay to conduct training seminars in microfinance and graduate work research while completing two internships with Fundacion Paraguaya. This led to an M.A. in Latin American Studies with a focus on international development.

My past experience with Relief International as the Microfinance and Program Development intern, I collaborated with field offices and program desks for USAID, UNDP, AusAid and European Union research of concepts notes and proposal development, provided backs
