Professional Experience:
Project & Programme management and implementation
• Managed and accountable for a team of 20 in the production and research for Maplecroft’s Human Rights Risk Atlas: a publication that analyses human rights risk trends in 197 countries across 31 different violations. This included improving the methodology, the development of the website in collaboration with the designers, the design of the hard copy, liaising with the map team, training new employees on how to score the human rights issues, ensuring that project plan was being adhered to and overseeing quality control. The improvement of the methodology made it the most accurate Atlas to-date.
• Led a team of six researchers working on the successful delivery of 26 reports over 6 months for a major global corporate retail client with a total value of £30K. Role also involved creating a new team and training team on analytical and research skills, liaising with client and report quality assurance. This was the second contract year, amounting to £60,000 over two years and was also continued in the subsequent year.
• Managed the successful running of the UK Bridgwater Cycle Challenge, a health-based workplace initiative, which encouraged employees, through behaviour change, to take up cycling. This included bringing on board partners (e.g. Sustainable Transport, British Cycling, local Police, etc.), engaging companies to participate in the challenge and procuring prizes. This was done in a shorter time frame then normally given and I received a bonus for engaging the highest amount of first time cyclists than any other Challenge to date.

Policy development and implementation

These papers provide solutions and policies for businesses to avoid complicity in human rights violations. The forum now has over 1,000 members including members from humanitarian and human rights backgrounds, academics and multi-national companies.
• Advised 30 blue-chip clients over three years on implementing auditing procedures and management policies to reduce risk of exposure to labour rights violations. As a direct result some clients changed their investment decisions.
