Professional Experience:
I'm currently working for a telecommunications start up that has launched in 2 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, with more in the pipeline. I work with the management teams in country to set up launch budgets, business models and strategies, providing commercial analysis and learnings from other markets. I also complete analysis on debt transactions, and M&A deals.

Prior to this, I was involved with setting up the Social Equity Fund, which was an impact investment fund that financed and provided business support to small businesses that were looking to scale in East Africa. The fund focussed on companies in sectors that have the biggest impact on the bottom of the pyramid, such as health, sustainable energy and agriculture. I produced business models, presentations for potential investors and conducted due diligence on potential investments.

As you might be able to tell, I have a strong fascination with Sub-Saharan Africa. This originated during a 6 month stay in Sierra Leone, where I worked on a mobile money project with a microfinance company. The project aimed to make loan disbursements and repayments less time consuming for clients and operationally easier for the microfinance company. I project managed the launch, trained the mobile money agents and set up the marketing campaign.

I started my career at an investment bank, where I received high quality training on Excel, presentations, negotiations and even wine tasting... It also developed my knowledge of financing instruments, markets and the world in general. I'm very comfortable with large datasets and complex Excel models, and am comfortable drawing conclusions and summaries for senior managers.

I graduated from University College London in 2007 with a 2.1 (Hons) BSc in Economics. I finished my CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) qualification in 2015, with first time passes.
