More than 10 years experience in financial and general accounting including budget, project/ program and grant management. Particular expertise in compliance procedures and programs, audit reviews and reporting, donor reporting, financial and grant administration. Served as Program Administrator for CIMMYT’s Corporate Services Program and Consultative Group for International Research Program for Maize and Wheat (CRP Maize and Wheat) (US$2-3M each CRP per year) I was responsible for the Program’s budgetary planning and cost management priorities, including preparation of monthly and yearly financial progress reports, review and interpret monthly budget burns, recommend ways to address any discrepancies, problems, unacceptable variance or trends.
Other responsibilities include Grants management, drafting of sub-grant agreements including financial and budget lines. I coordinated more than 100 projects within the CGIAR Programs MAIZE and WHEAT Competitive Grants with a yearly total budget of 5 million US Dollars. I also manage the USAID linkage funds to both CGIAR research Programs Maize and Wheat for a total of 220,000usd/yearly budget. I looked after annual and overall budget planning and review of partners’ expenditures and approval of their financial reports. I also liaised and made sure that, partners from different parts of the world delivers their project output on time. My achievements working with the CRP Maize and Wheat is when I designed and develop the process workflow of the CRPs Competitive Grants as well as developed the reporting and monitoring system. I have maintained satisfactory rate of 96% performing projects. I can give efficient support to your project/program and assure that I can act as focal point for contacts, donors, partners and other stakeholders, visitors and high level representatives and prepare necessary reports as needed.
