Provided technical support for country programs that turned around a primary school in Northwest Haiti. Assessed the educational challenges of vulnerable children and accomplished the following:
•Assessed children learning in Haiti that resulted in equipping children with the tools for learning that improved literacy and increased students’ subject knowledge by 50% from baseline.
•Evaluated six graders standardized test scores that resulted in implementing an after school program and 90% of six graders passing government test.
•Engaged parents in need assessments that strengthened community involvement of the project design, implementation, and evaluation.
•Evaluated student health and nutrition that resulted in implementing a food security program and WASH (water and sanitation hygiene) project that increased enrollment from 70 to 300 students.
•Built capacity of staff in Haiti by conducting ongoing staff development that resulted in better qualified teachers.
•Organized capacity building workshops for teachers in Haiti by recruiting US educators to conduct training in Haiti that increased morale and deepened commitment of national teachers.
•Monitored interventions with quarterly site visits and refined activities/benchmarks that resulted in decreasing children truancy 80%.
•Improved the program by reporting mid-term/intermediate internal evaluations to key stakeholders who adapted change for continual improvement.
•Monitored program activities and outputs ongoing that resulted in successfully achieving project goals.
•Formed and cultivated relationship with key stakeholders of influence that resulted in greater involvement and resources to help the school in Haiti.
•Fundraised with a sense of urgency after the earthquake in Haiti that resulted in securing a grant for a new primary school 8 months later.
•Coordinated humanitarian aid for vulnerable children and orphans that resulted in decreasing out of school youth by 50% in the community.
•Organized children immunization by collaborating with a US immunization program in Haiti that increased the health of vulnerable children.
