20 years of progressive experience spanning field level data collection to senior level program management in the environment, DRM/humanitarian/emergency response and climate change sector throughout the Caribbean Region and internationally.
I have led, designed, reviewed, appraised, analyzed and coordinated interdisciplinary programs and projects for reducing disaster risk, building climate resilience and encouraging greater sustainable environmental management at international, country, regional, sub-regional and community levels.
Experience includes work in the governmental (regulatory), private, non-governmental, international development (bilateral & multilateral), and non-profit sectors
Have worked directly for EU, CIDA, UNDP, & CDB.
Familiar with conditions of and have worked with the humanitarian response, recovery and development financing systems of a wide range of international agencies including: the United States Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA); Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Development (DFATD); United Kingdom Department For International Development (DFID); United Nations Development Program (UNDP); European Commission Humanitarian Organization (ECHO); and the International Federation of the Red Cross (IFRC); caribbean development bank and world bank.
Have led technical design of, implementation, and management of projects focused on: post-disaster emergency humanitarian relief/response; resilient recovery, reconstruction/rehabilitation; disaster risk management and risk reduction; community resilience and climate change adaptation. This experience has included proposal development/mobilization of grant resources, grant making, project implementation management, monitoring & evaluation, knowledge management, partnership development, institutional strengthening, and visibility coordination.
Currently serving as the DRR/Resilience Advisor to International Medical Corps primarily tasked with: developing, advancing, normalizing and systematizing the DRR & Resilience agenda in the Organization’s corporate planning, culture of daily management decision-making and practical field operations. In this role I am functionally tasked with both new business development and advisory technical design/quality responsibilities.
