Capstone Project College Station, TX January 2014-May2014 As a part of my master’s degree, I participated in a project where we coordinate our efforts as a team to address the needs of a client in an area of development. My team worked with The Center on Conflict and Development at Texas A&M University, a USAID Higher Education Solutions Network (HESN) partner, to conduct an impact evaluation on a youth vocational training program and a malnutrition alleviation program at a partner university, the Catholic University of Graben (UCG) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). As a part of the program: • Designed surveys for the purpose of collecting quantitative and qualitative data. • Traveled to Butembo, DRC where within one week we conducted surveys and collected data on over 2000 individuals. • Analyzed the data and wrote a report of our results and presented them to The Center on Conflict and Development and USAID and for publication.

The other half was an in-depth look into major development issues such as gender inequality, education, and institutions. • Field Research Methods: This course was dedicated to planning and implementing field research. It included an in-depth look into qualitative research methods, survey design and implementation, and randomization. • Finance for Microfinance: In this course, we studied the financial tools used in Microfinance, sources of funding, and issues regarding nonprofit vs. for profit microfinance organizations.
