Professional Experience: |
I am international result oriented health and development professional with more than 10 years senior leadership role in various organizations. I served as Country Director for two organizations in Malawi and Timor Leste. As Director I have led the development of Country strategic plans, program designs and proposal development. I have raised more than 8 million dollars in grant projects and increased child sponsorship projects funding. I led the development of a sustainable eye care service and construction of big eye hospital in Malawi. I built capacity of staff and motivate staff for optimum production.
I have grown from field Project Officer to Program Manager and then to Country Director. I have experience in both emergency relief programs and development programs. I have set up demobilization camps, emergency health programs, emergency agricultural recovery programs and school rehabilitation. I have also designed and managed Primary Health Care programs, HIV/AID, Maternal and Child Health, education programs and food security and livelihood programs targeting youth employment and entrepreneurial.
Besides, during a period of 4 years under my leadership we doubled the annual revenue of the organization and diversified the sources of funding. I have established a cordial working relationship with the donors and all support offices of the organization. I actively work to build relationship with government institutions and other stakeholders. I was a member of Country Coordinating mechanism of Global fund as the vice chair of the oversight committee. In Malawi, I served as two term Chairperson of the project steering committee comprising members of Lion Club, Ministry of Health and International Partners. I have good experience working with strategic partners and government officials. I have led various assessment teams in Somalia and Angola in identifying needs in new areas to extend our programs. In addition, I have extensive monitoring and evaluation experience being responsible for many KPC surveys and other surveys using different methodology.
I have worked in Africa and Asia Pacific region. I enjoy working in team recognizing that team work is important for achievement of organizational goals. I motivate and support my team to win. I have worked in over 6 countries in Africa and Asia Pacific regions and traveled to close to 25 different countries around the world. I have managed and worked with multi-cultural team in my present role and in previous roles.
