Director of the Academy of HRD

The Academy of Human Resources Development (AHRD) is India’s premier institution, specializing in human resources development for all organizational forms.

Initiatives:

+ Focused on ways to enhance revenues and minimize costs while building the brand of the Academy.

+ Instituted a Performance Management System for the AHRD team.

+ Instituted in-service training for the AHRD team to foster continuous improvement in areas that impact the quality of the Academy’s work.

+ Introduced a Project Management approach to the work being done at the Academy, with clear accountabilities for tasks, timelines, etc. and a daily sharing of work priorities among the team.

+ Launched the Academy of HRD Press.

+ Made the Academy of HRD's Doctoral Fellow Program more rigorous, doubling the number of modules taught from nine to eighteen.

Education:
I have a Masters degree in Economics, and am currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program. My doctoral Guide is Dr. Yoginder K. Alagh, noted Indian economist, former Vice Chancellor of the Jawaharlal Nehru University, Rajya Sabha Member and Union Minister of the Government of India. Currently, Dr. Y.K. Alagh is Chairman of the Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA).
Affiliations and Achievements:
Founding member of the Indian Society for Corporate Social Responsibility, and the Indian Society for Monitoring and Evaluating Development Projects.

Life Member of the All India Management Association, National HRD Network, Academy of HRD, Indian Society for Training & Development, Palni Hills Conservation Council, Indian Economic Association, Indian Econometrics Association, Indian Society of Labour Economics and the Indian Science Congress Association.

Individual Member of Gateway House: Indian Council on Global Relations.

Served as Director for Youth Services at the Rotary Club of Kodaikanal in 1996 and 1997, Chairman of a District Project for Street Children with the Rotary Club of Cochin East in 1998, Director for International Services and Chairman - Rotary Foundation for 2009-'10 at Rotary Bangalore Downtown.

Currently writing two books, on Reducing Poverty and Accelerating Economic Growth, and on Monetary and Fiscal Strategies for Ending Inflation.

Won a Man of the Seminar Award after delivering a speech at the Indian Ceramic Society in 1999.
