I am a driven, agile and goal-oriented Finance Expert with a passion for developing and executing financial strategies in support of development programs and business projects. I have developed invaluable expertise across finance management, auditing and financial reporting, financial systems development, training and capacity strengthening, payroll management and budget administration, cross-functional collaboration and relations management. Through finance acumens, strategic planning and collaboration, I have led finance teams, implemented thorough financial controls and ensured projects and their related intervention finances are executed within proper company financial systems, budgets and policies. As the Projects Accountant at Cardno Emerging Markets (East Africa) Ltd, I developed and implemented finance systems and procedures for the newly formed Cardno Rwanda, hence the successful implementation of the SDMR and subsequent projects. I also generated 100% effective and efficient donor reports for DfID (now FCDO) and other donors, leading to healthy donor relationships. Accordingly, I received a written commendation from DfID on closure of the SDMR project.

Education:
A Certified Public Accountant of Kenya with an extensive educational background in Accounting and Finance. Holds a M.Sc. in Commerce (Finance) and a Diploma in information Technology from Strathmore University and a Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting) from Kenya Methodist University.

? Singlehandedly designed and implemented an induction package adopted for use in inducing staff and consultants into new projects which has greatly improved communication of project specific systems and procedures to implementing staff and consultants. I received high accolades from top management for this innovation as it was considered 90% more effective than the previous induction method.
? Generated 100% effective and efficient donor reports to DfID (now FCDO) and other donors 100% of reporting periods leading to perfect donor relationship with the organization. Received a written commendation from DfID on closure of the SDMR project.
? Improved budget management by 95% by designing and implementing a budget control system that compared Budget Versus Actuals and calculated variance.
? Ensured the project burn rate is under 1 through collaborations with budget holders to explain any budget variances and communicating the same to clients.
? Streamlined and championed end month project finance reporting process, leading the project finance and administration teams in Nairobi, Rwanda and Uganda, and in collaboration with colleagues in USA, UK and Australia business units ensured effective and efficient organization wide project finance reporting.
? Implemented the SDMR project and established organizational presence in Rwanda involving the setup of the new office in Kigali and development of finance systems and procedures for the newly formed Cardno Rwanda.
? Achieved a 95% accuracy in project finance forecasting resulting in improved sound decision making by budget holders and client project management units
? Improved ties with various business units, hence, made it easy to reach out to them concerning financial matters affecting projects jointly implemented by multiple business units.
? Trained 5 finance and admin staff in Rwanda and 6 finance and admin staff in Uganda as part of their induction program
