Professional Experience: |
Working for one of the biggest fundraising companies in Australia, I trained new fundraisers and made sure they succeeded by coordinating their activities and by providing specific, useful feedback to ensure their improvement. I used initiative and creativity to devise and successfully implement a strategy in order to meet and exceed the annual contract requirements of our charity clients. I trained fundraisers on recruiting large volumes of regular giving supporters through commitment to ethical fundraising practices for three different charity campaigns. I ensured that the fundraising campaigns operated with integrity and professionalism.

I have completed a Masters Degree in Political Science/ International Relations at York University in Toronto, Canada, where I graduated as a member of the Dean Honour' Roll and specialized in issues relating to the intersection between international relations and human rights. My core focus has been in the political and ethical dimensions of both theory and practice in international relations, but I have also studied human rights activism and international law with great interest. I have built strong foundations in the areas of international human rights, development issues and global justice. I have cultivated strong abilities to identify, analyse, and synthesize complex information, as well as to provide recommendations for solving complex policy-related problems. My educational experiences have given me advanced written and verbal communication skills, academic research and teamwork capabilities. Additionally, I have gained thorough knowledge in the political and ethical dimensions of both theory and practice in international relations.
Additionally, I have completed an Honours Double Major Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and European Studies at York University in Toronto, where I have gained thorough understanding of theories, principles and methodologies associated with political science.
I have also taken a political science course at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where I specialized in conflict resolution from theory to practice. I am a fluent speaker of English, native speaker of Albanian, and intermediate speaker of French and Italian. The various courses that I have taken as well as my participation in related conferences and clubs such as National Model NATO Conference, York University Model UN and Model International Criminal Court have provided me with a strong academic background in politics and international relations.

As a result of my academic achievements, I have been the recipient of several awards and scholarships such as: Dean's Honour Roll Award for MA Degree in 2014, York Graduate Scholarship in 2013, Dean's Honour Roll Award for BA Degree in 2013,Leonard Wolinsky Israel Study Award in 2013, Asper National Scholarship in 2013, Golden Key International Honour Society Award, (after having been identified as a student in the top 15% of my Faculty in 2011, 2012 & 2013), Continuing Student Scholarship in 2011, and York University Entrance Scholarship for high GPA in 2009.
I have participated in extracurricular activities such as Model International Criminal Court in Poland in March 2014, where I served as a Project Manager for the Canadian team, as well as a judge during the court simulations.
I have completed an internship with the Turkish Ministry of Interior Affairs in Ankara 2012, where I acquired a better understanding of politics by participating in various programs and by working closely with policy makers. I participated in projects implemented by the Turkish International Academy Against Drugs and Organized Crime, and I was the recipient of a certificate by the International Relations Department of Turkey for successfully completing the TNP study project.
I have received a Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), and a Certificate of Participation as an English Lecturer For Teach and Travel Project, sponsored by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Turkish Republic.
I have also volunteered for two different international NGOs, one of them being Jafra Foundation for Relief and Youth Development in Stockholm Sweden, where I collected necessary materials such as blankets, clothing and cleaning supplies which were delivered to Internally Displaced People in the Yarmouk and Jaramana camps in Syria; contributed to the collection of 7.000 food baskets which were distributed to the most affected families within the camps in order to cover their basic nutritional needs; worked on developmental projects that aim to raise the human, social and economic capacities in the refugee community; communicated with donators via email/telephone. Another NGO that I have volunteered for is Kimse Yok Mu in Ankara Turkey, where I participated in charitable activities, delivered food to low income families in Turkey and in the Balkans, and collected donations for those in need.
