- Teacher over the past two decades. Has been a teacher of Geography, Environmental Sciences, Portuguese, History and Geography of Portugal, Complementary Training and Man and Environment in various government schools across the country since 1983.

- Teaching at different levels of education of ancient Courses of the Preparatory, General and Secondary, currently 2nd and 3rd Cycles of Basic Education, Special Education, Recurrent Education and Alternative Curricula, day and night regimes (adults).

- Guidance as Tutor of students of 1st year of BSc (1st cycle, Bologna) in Nursing Higher Education School in Anthropology of Health at the Higher School of Nursing - Polytechnic Institute of Porto.

- Masters Degree in African Studies - Social and Economic Development in Africa; Analysis and Management - the Higher Institute of Labour and Enterprise (ISCTE-IUL), with a final grade of Very Good (he was awarded the prize "Portuguese Cooperation", for the best master's thesis in 1998 under an convention between the Portuguese Cooperation Institute and the Center for African Studies, ISCTE).

- University Diploma of Specialization in Educational Sciences in the area of Supervision, by the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Lisbon, with a final grade of Good with Distinction.

-Degree in Anthropology, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FCSH) New University of Lisbon, with final information of Good.

- Course in Educational Sciences, by the Open University-Lisbon, with a final grade of Good.

- Participation in African Societies project address global dynamics: turbulence between external interventions, migration and food insecurity (Coordinator Ulrich Schiefer) - Project PTDC / AFR / 104597/2008, funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology.

- Stayed two months on the island of Santiago in Cape Verde as a fellow of the Praxis XXI / Foundation for Science and Technology, January-February, 2001.

- Stayed a month and a half in Santiago Island of Cape Verde as a fellow of the Praxis XXI / Foundation for Science and Technology, October November, 1999.

- Stayed two and a half months on the island of Santiago in Cape Verde, with a grant from Praxis XXI / National Board of Scientific and Technological Research (JNICT), November-January, 1995.
