Professional Experience:
I am a dedicated Health Systems Strengthening Expert and Consultant with over 19 years’ experience in clinical practice, research, and the implementation of supply chain and public health systems, primarily across Africa. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (2004), a Master’s in Operations and Supply Chain Management (2016), and am currently pursuing a PhD in Healthcare Management.
My career spans collaborations with leading international organisations, including the World Bank, USAID, CDC, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and the Global Fund. I have served in technical advisory and consultancy roles, focusing on improving health systems in resource-limited settings.
As National Technical Advisor to the Kenya Ministry of Health, I led the development of critical supply chain management documents, including the in-service training curriculum for commodity management, the national health commodities quantification handbook, and mentorship guidelines for healthcare workers. My input directly supported the professional development of over 500 healthcare workers.
Key positions held include:
• Regional Technical Advisor, DMPA-SC Access Collaborative Project (JSI)
• Health Supply Chain Advisor, PACT Timiza Project (University of Maryland Programs, Kenya)
• Senior Technical Advisor, APHIAplus IMARISHA Project
• Provincial Antiretroviral Therapy Officer, Ministry of Medical Services (Coast Province, Kenya)
• Hospital Pharmacist, Coast Province General Hospital, Kenya
I have provided technical advice, managed complex projects, and contributed to the development of national health policies. I have mentored more than 200 healthcare professionals in supply chain management, TB/HIV service delivery, reproductive health, and waste management, resulting in improved service delivery across multiple counties.
Between 2019 and 2020, I was a technical resource in the development of Kenya’s first Health Products and Technologies Supply Chain Strategy (2020–2025). Since its initial implementation, this strategy has led to the establishment of HPT governance structures across counties, resulting in enhanced oversight of health commodity management at the local level.
I am an active member of national technical working groups, including the Malaria Case Management Committee and the Procurement and Supply Chain Management Sub-Committee. Professionally, I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS), the International Association of Public Health Logisticians (IAPHL), and the Pharmaceutical Society of Kenya (PSK).
Driven by a passion for strengthening health systems in Africa and beyond, I am committed to advancing efficient, effective, and sustainable healthcare through evidence-based solutions and ongoing quality improvement.
