Education:
Currently, I am studying for my MSc in International Development at the University of Bristol, with graduation scheduled for early September 2014. My current degree classification is a 'Merit', having completed six modules that were entitled:
- Conflict, Security and Development,
- Theories of Development
- International Political Economy
- Culture, Postmodernity & Religion
- Sino-US Relations in Global Politics
- Liberalism, Terror & Insecurity
This summer I have been working on my dissertation, which is based on the human rights violations in Syria that occurred in August 2013 when chemical weapons were used in Ghouta.

My undergraduate degree was also obtained at the University of Bristol, and was entitled 'Sociology with Study Abroad', seeing as I spent the 2011/2012 academic year studying at UC Berkeley in the USA. I graduated in July 2013 with a 2:1 degree classification.
Affiliations and Achievements:
I recently became a Fellow at the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA), which will allow me to get involved in various projects that attempt to overcome the numerous social challenges of the 21st century.

A personal achievement that I look back on with real pride is my successful year studying at UC Berkeley. The global reputation of Berkeley in the Social Sciences is what drew me to applying, and it was fantastic to spend a year immersed in the teaching there. The year allowed me to grow in confidence, independence and initiative as I consistently developed my international social network, which was a fantastic part of the cultural experience as I knew nobody else studying there when I arrived. The year gave me an insight into living in a globalized world, and gave me the opportunity to develop new skills in interaction and adapt to functioning in a different cultural setting. It was my first prolonged period of time whereby I was able to grow as a person, and traveling around California I was able to develop a new field of view on social and political issues that existed in the state, and the US as a whole, which I found very useful for when I came home to complete my studies at Bristol and reaffirmed my desire to forge a career that was relevant to society. Furthermore, during my time studying at UC Berkeley, I joined the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, which makes me the first ever British alumni of the Alpha Sigma chapter.
