My current position is Chief of Operations (level P5) for UNICEF Pakistan since February 2012. As head of the operations cluster, my responsibility is to ensure the effective, equitable, and efficient operational systems in the broad operational areas (supply & procurement, finance, accounts, human resources, information technology, and administration). I also have the responsibility to guide and lead a group of professionals and support staff to manage and deliver operational support for programme management and administration in support of the UNICEF country programmes.
Prior to joining Pakistan, I was Chief of Operations (P5) for UNICEF Bangladesh Country Office for 4 years with similar responsibilities as my current job.
Without going in the details of my career here, which are outlined in the attached CV, I would like to highlight that I have over 30 years work experience with UNICEF. I am quite fluent in both English and French. In my capacity of Chief of Operations I have acted many times as UNICEF Representative when the Representative and Deputy Representative are away from the country.
As for my education background, after completing a Bachelor Degree in Electromechanical Engineering at the National School of Engineering of Mali, I pursued my studies in business administration at the Institut de Productivite et Gestion Previsionnelle in Mali for one year and continued the same studies at the University of Paris-Dauphine in France to obtain a “Doctorat 3eme Cycle en Gestion d’Entreprise et Economie Appliquee” in a cooperation programme between this university and the Institut de Productivite et Gestion Previsionnelle in Mali.
