My career commenced in the field of public relations at Courts Guyana Inc. which is a large retailer of electrical and furniture items. Some of my achievements in this portfolio included developing a public relations outreach programme for each Branch, efficiently managing the allocation of the yearly public relations budget, developing a positive relationship with the media and acting as the spokesperson by promoting the events of the company. Thereafter, my career progressed as Programme Manager at EMPRETEC Guyana Inc. which is a Non-Governmental Organization operating under license by United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) targeting micro, small and medium size entrepreneurs. During my one year tenure my responsibilities included coordinating and developing capacity building programmes for entrepreneurs and Organizations, effectively managing the daily operations of the company and promoting the programmes offered by the institution to ensure its sustainability all of which were satisfactorily achieved. Upon completion of my contract, I commenced employment at the Education Development Center which is an International Non-Governmental Organization based in Washington D.C United States of America, at the Skills and Knowledge for Youth Employment (SKYE) project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). I started working with the SKYE project as a Consultant in August 2014 and was thereafter appointed on 1st December of 2014 as Youth Self Employment Manager of the Be Your Own Boss (BYOB) component. Some of my achievements thus far include developing the BYOB curriculum, conducting a training of trainers session in the BYOB curriculum, effectively supervising six Coaches across various regions to achieve their targets, promoting the BYOB component at various forums, achieving the set target of over two hundred youth trained in BYOB curriculum and realizing seventy new start- up businesses across the regions.
