Professional Experience: |
My career has been focused in retail banking, retail credit risk and more recently in microfinance, managing a microfinance company, which provides financing to over 2,200,000 microfinance clients in the Middle East and North Africa through microfinance institutions (MFIs).
I am currently working as advisor to the Board of Directors of Grameen-Jameel, a Joint venture between Grameen Foundation USA and Abdul Latif Jameel, which provides financing and capacity building to microfinance institutions in the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey.
Previously, I was the CEO of Grameen-Jameel for 3.5 years. In this role, I managed the regional office, a USD 2 million per annum operation, a guarantee fund of USD 50 million, loan fund of over USD 10 million and oversaw over 20 due diligences and institution performance assessments, and the delivery of over 70 different capacity building/technical assistance projects to MFIs in the MENA region.
Prior to microfinance, I was in the banking sector for 8 years, with a focus on loan product development, analyzing product performance, end-to-end process mapping, credit risk, managing and growing lending products and investment funds, and monitoring lending portfolios and stress testing.

I have a bachelor of business administration degree from Trent University, Ontario, Canada with a focus in Finance and Economics.
