As a senior polical officer I give advice on the overall policy direction and institutional needs. I keep abreast of latest developments, including analyzing and reporting. I liase with specialized agencies, local, regional and international non- governmental organizations, national research institutes, academia and national government institutions. I prepare strategies on the institutions work related to investments and donor funding on sectors of interest. I possess experience in organizing and following up work in the region- including meeting with agencies to support policy development work and decision making on important issues.
I bring experience in preparing economic, social and political situational reports for the use of the Institution, whilst analyzing and evaluating on critical matters pertaining to political, social and economic issues. I possess the ability to undertake conceptual and strategic analysis whilst involving originality and creative thinking.
I network with development partners to facilitate funding in capacity building projects and technology transfer to the Government. I also possess strong negotiating skills with the ability to influence others to reach agreement on difficult issues.
I have the ability to take lead in establishing partnerships with other stake holders (e.g governments, research institutions, international organizations, NGO’s, private sector, academia and the UN) to discuss and exchange views on latest findings, policy guidelines and emerging political and social issues and their effect to the Government.
I have the ability to network and establish strong partnerships and maintain contacts with my counterpart senior officers and technical staff in relevant institutions. I have experience in maintaining strong partnerships and relations with host countries, relevant institutions and agencies in order to maintain support for political, social and economic programmes.
I have experience in developing regional and country specific recommendations based on analyses on political, social and economic issues. I also organize and participate in relevant work groups, meeting and conferences with ability and vast experience of international travel.
