Professional Experience:
Currently working as a senior manager in Catalonia’s most significant ‘think and do tank’ in the education sector. Responsible for all international projects and building the international reputation of the foundation as well as embedding knowledge from other countries in the local context.

High level of education with a European PhD in Project and Systems Engineering from the Technical University of Catalonia in collaboration with the University of Glasgow, UK. Research which focused on Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) multi-stakeholder partnerships for the achievement of the MDGs (and other UN campaigns), and the role of ICT and university management. Most recent education achievement was through ESADE, Barcelona, where I gained a Master Degree in Leadership and Social Innovation in NGOs.

My daily work involves strategic planning, creating projects, undertaking research and managing international events. I regularly design and implement management strategy and am involved in measuring projects, promoting process improvement, supporting and supervising staff and interfacing with international governmental and non-governmental partners and stakeholders.

Former Observatory Co-ordinator at the Global University Network for Innovation, a UNESCO, United Nations University and UPC joint-project.

Involved in different international projects and universities courses, have been working for non-profit organisations since 1995 and have been engaged in a number of interdisciplinary and intercultural projects in the field of education, advocacy, awareness, innovation, ICT, human and social development, and corporate social responsibility.

• Organisational and planning skills with experience in problem solving and finding solutions to challenging situations (staff and stakeholders conflict resolution).
• Management skills and teamwork experience, on-site and online staff from multicultural, multi-ethnic and multi-disciplinary environments.
• More than 10 years of experience of organising international conferences, research projects, disseminating research results and on working with the United Nations system and other international organisations where I learned a set of transferable skills.
• Effective networker and communicator, fluent in Portuguese, Catalan, English and Spanish (understanding of French and Italian), with relevant policy actors network worldwide. Ability to communicate efficiently with high-level stakeholders, staff and educational community.
• Team player with interpersonal skills, experience and ability to take effective decisions in line with the organisation’s Director strategic priorities.
• Design of research projects on key global and local challenges (also adapted for public and private fundraising).
• Flexible and resourceful – can carry out many different responsibilities, sometimes with very little advanced notice.
