Professional Experience:
I’ve spent the last 8 years in a variety of roles at Advanced Tubing Technology Inc. Early on I discovered that I had a knack for streamlining and improving processes. As the Human Resources Generalist I cut the time needed to process payroll for 200 people in half, while providing supportive and reliable Employee Relations. In 2006 our company was purchased and I had the good fortune to work with Samuel & Son’s IT Department to get our systems updated and converted to a cloud based system providing IT support between Canada and the US.. Over the course of time I became the on-site IT Coordinator for our company.
During the recession we lost roughly 2/3 of our work force. During that time I handled all day to day Human Resources, IT Support, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Commodities Purchasing. With a fresh perspective and a willingness to embrace challenges I was able to streamline our Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable efficiency and accuracy. In concert with management my development of purchasing policies provided an environment that encouraged cost savings while maintaining quality of service. Through vender maintenance relationships and cost reduction techniques. I was able to save on or about 25% on all commodities purchased
In September 2013 I was asked to step into the Purchasing Manager position. In this role I was able to work with our Engineering and Sales team to ensure that we were getting the best price available for potential new quoting projects and prototypes. I was able to set up vender freight programs to reduce freight cost by $2000 a month and had an annual savings of $150,000 for 2013.
The end of 2013 the company was consolidated with a sister company, but the skills and experience gained have been invaluable. I learned that the key to any position is the ability to adapt and to give 100%.
Education:
Currently taking classes to finish my bachelors degree online. I can continue my education anywhere in the world as long as I have internet access. Current focus of study is Global Procurement Management and Hospitality Managment at Devry University.
