Professional Experience:
I am a highly qualified expert and manager with extensive experience in private, public and NGO sectors.

My professional experience includes both: business and non-business activities. I am an expert in international development, urban and global studies experienced in managing complex training and research projects, lecturing at university and secondary education level and collaborating with public administration and international organizations. Within the sphere of education I have conducted number of courses and trainings, especially via e-learning and blended learning. I have also done advocacy and communication support connected mostly with development cooperation.

For over 7 years I have been an expert and a project manager in Global Development Research Group (GDRG) - a leading Polish think-tank working in the realm of development cooperation - namely in: strategy design and consulting, research, education and evaluation. I have been working with public administration and NGOs, and - on the research level - with different universities in Poland. I have also been the GDRG representative in the European Association of Development Research and Training Institutes (EADI).

In the business field, for over 15 years I have been responsible for establishing and managing private enterprises, NGOs and business alliances (clusters). My experience includes:
- Consulting, preparing and supervising projects in the fields of policy & research, international development, capacity building, technical assistance, etc.
- Design, implementation and consulting on development strategies and communication strategies including integrated marketing ATL/BTL/online and social media campaigns
- Supervising and producing multimedia materials
- Managing market research
- Collaboration with national authorities and international organizations
- Staff development and team management

I also would like to underline my experience gained while managing and building Creative Communication Cluster – an innovative business alliance facilitating cooperation between number of companies and institutions (including universities, R&D entities, think tanks and NGOs) and working closely with government authorities. Creative Communication Cluster is an unique cooperation platform for creative and cognitive sectors in Poland (based mostly in Warsaw).

Currently I am an Assistant Professor at Univeristy of Warsaw (Faculty of Geography and Regional Studies) where I am responsible for:
- Preparing and conducting courses within BA and MA programs, e.g. "Regional Development and Regional Policy", "Urban Sustainability", "Processes of Urban Development", "From Sustainable to Smart Cities"
- Conducting own research, establishing and participating in international research consortia
- Publishing research articles

Education:
My education has been mostly focused on, but not limited to, human geography. I am a holder of Ph.D. degree in Human Geography preceded by two MA degrees (Human Geography: Development Geography of the Global South; Sociology: Society and Culture) and one MS degree (Physical Geography: Geomorphology).

After completing my MA program in human geography I joined doctoral studies in the field and graduated four years later. Within my doctoral studies I received Fulbright Scholarship at University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA) and European Commission Scholarship "Future Urban Research in Europe".

Alongside university education I acquired graduate degree in Documentary Film Directing.

Being firstly a geographer, my academic interests concern spatial dimension of human activity: global development, development geography, international development cooperation, regional development, urban studies, location factors of economic activity, theories and consequences of globalization (both: mainstream and critical thinking).

Affiliations and Achievements:
– Ph.D. dissertation in human geography titled “Information and Communication Technologies and the Spatial Organization of the Information Economy” is focused on the analysis of spatial patterns present in the information economy, namely location factors of the knowledge processes outsourcing and offshoring (BPO/KPO/IPO/LPO & SSC), as well as the spatial dynamics of the contemporary capitalism.

– Directing and producing "Diamonds are not forever" – a documentary on major development challenges in Botswana released in 2011. Project was co-financed by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

– Fulbright Scholarship at the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA) (2006/2007)

– European Commission Scholarship to participate in the “Future Urban Research” (Future) Training Programme (2005/2006)
