Professional Experience:
I pride myself on my adaptability, my resourcefulness, my tenacity and my varied skill set. I am organized, efficient and competent in a variety of settings. I have worked in a wide array of positions, and the combined experiences have coalesced and created a dedicated worker who can thrive in any situation. My past experiences demonstrate my ability to work and live in a foreign country, adapt to local norms, learn the local language, work under pressure, manage a team, and coordinate activities.

In my last full-time position, though volunteer, I was in charge of all communications for PANCAP (the Pan Caribbean Partnership Against HIV/AIDS), and I was tasked with developing a communications strategy. This evolved into a three-part toolkit comprising the strategy, style and brand guide and media and PR policy. In addition to that, I proofread all important documents for grammar, language, formatting, and brand guideline adherence; I advised on all print designs; I launched the organization on Facebook and Twitter for the first time; I managed all press relations; I collaborated with a consultant to develop an orientation package for new partners, including a stigma and discrimination sensitization module. In this role, I was in contact with senior level international leaders, and I earned their respect and collaborated well with their staffs.

Since completing my one-year contract there, I have elected to stay in Guyana and pursue consulting work until I take my next full-time opportunity. Due to my ability to network and build relationships, I immediately won four contracts utilizing my communication and organizational capacity development skills. The most comprehensive of the projects was the development of an organizational strategy, operational plan and communications plan for the Guyana Network of People Living with HIV. I worked with the stakeholders gathering information, perceptions and facts about the organization in order to develop a plan that was feasible and targeted with achievable and measurable goals.

My work with Brain Central is very technology oriented, as we are working to develop a brand new on-line learning platform. From strategy to content development to testing and analyzing data, I am involved with all aspects of the business as we prepare to launch.

In London, my work was with the Tiffany Circle, which is a prestigious women’s philanthropic circle within the Red Cross. I often had to research our projects to write program summaries and updates for the donors. Sourcing renowned speakers and memorable venues for events required creativity, but also tremendous interpersonal communications skills, the ability to negotiate and absolute discretion. This was also a fundraising role.

I am driven, passionate, and committed and my combined experiences in the office and in the field have created a competent, sensitive and knowledgeable professional.
