Effectively engages and strengthens civil society and government partners in Africa to initiate advocacy campaign sub-award grants projects, including proposal development, budget and work plan development; strategy planning, and capacity building. Countries include Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Togo, Uganda, and Zambia. Her overall experience and role include:
• Initiated the successful launch and expansion of the Africa Program portfolio, contributing to the overall strategy, stakeholder identification, annual work plan and country strategies.
• Served as Technical Advisor for Francophone countries on campaign strategy development, policy analysis, and project design, for at least 3 years.
• Provide leadership to sub-award grants portfolio for advocacy-driven campaign projects for the passage and implementation of tobacco control laws.
• Conduct field visits to identify opportunities and stakeholders; assess the partner-grantee organization and the policy environment; cultivate high-level advocacy with policymakers and decision-makers, and participate in strategy meetings.
• Provides technical assistance to proposal development to ensure alignment with policy goal, country strategy, and overall program priorities.
• Build/strengthen the capacity of partner-grantees in-country in operational and financial management; CTFK policies and processes; and donor requirements.
• Organize and facilitate participatory advocacy training workshops (English & French) in-country and build the capacity of stakeholders; help develop short-term campaign strategy plans.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams for integrated strategies.
• Provide comprehensive portfolio management support- regular assessment of milestones, reports analysis, financial burn rates, key performance indicators; technical assistance through appropriate identification of issues/risks, and program modifications.
• Improve internal processes, grant application, and reporting templates.
• Supports the recruitment of field staff and consultants; hire, train and supervise staff interns.
• Deliver effective presentations on area program’s work and policy impacts.
