Bakari Hardi Nyari is a seasoned program Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) professional with 15+ years of experience designing, managing & conducting program monitoring and evaluations. Skilled in developing policies, systems and procedures for data collection, analysis, management, and reporting. I worked in senior positions with leading US-based International Development companies, including RTI International, Global Communities and the University of Rhode Island. In addition, I worked on programs funded by USAID, DFID, UNICEF, Bill and Gates Foundation, Global Affairs Canada, and Global Fund.
My roles included leading projects, designing, and managing monitoring and evaluation systems and units, building staff capacities, and managing and leading people. I also provided consulting services to International and Local NGOs, focusing on the baseline, midterm and final evaluation, capacity building and training in evaluation, and data analytics.
Recently set up monitoring and evaluation systems for the Africa Union commission's Campaign on Accelerated Reduction of Maternal Mortality in Africa (CARMMA Plus).
Led a team of M&E consultants on US $ 23,987,826 Ghana Sustainable Fishery Management Project. Conducted baseline, midterm and final evaluations of the project, and developed comprehensive monitoring, evaluation and learning plans. Implemented robust data quality assessment systems and facilitated partner learning sessions, identifying opportunities to improve project performance. (USAID, 2015-19)
As M&E Specialist on the Inclucity Project, was responsible for the collection and compilation of data for impact and activity monitoring of US $ 4,000,000 programme. Oversaw the development of results framework, M&E plans and the entire Global Communities Ghana M&E database. Introduced improvements, including peer to peer review for data quality assurance and developing participatory M&E systems for project. (Global Communities, 2012-14) Developed M&E System for DFID’s Institute of Social Research and Development (ISRAD) project in Ghana, building a robust and thorough M&E system that provided lessons learnt to inform ISRAD’s Malaria Prevention, Diagnosis and Data Programme (£5,380,990). (ISRAD 2014) As M&E Specialist on the Inclucity Project, designed and implemented a project M&E system assessment for Global Communities. Provided findings and recommendations to the Country Director. (Global Communities, 2012-14)
