• International diplomat who has demonstrated the ability to strategically guide and address complex, multi dimensional challenges and development programmes in difficult and volatile circumstances, where ethnic or religious conflicts prevailed, corruption was frequently rife and political dynamics were unstable.
• 25 years experience in multi faceted, programme identification, formulation, direction, management, monitoring & evaluation and team leadership for sector support and TA programmes, with conditional policy actions for a range of international donors (EC, DFID, DTI, WB, UNDP, UNILO, SIDA, CIDA, JICA) in many regions of the world especially ACP countries.
• 30 years experience of international and regional development specialising in sustainable rural development, rural infrastructure planning, rehabilitation and improvement (incl. rural health centres), identification and support of entrepreneurs/ SME’s and effective development aid management utilising tools such as PCM and PRAG or similar guidance.
• Provided Technical Assistance and Development Aid Management for almost 30 years which addressed social and economic challenges and included specific long term engagement in less developed and middle income countries.
• Evaluation Expert responsible for defining “theories of change”, monitoring systems and system boundaries for many interventions and for overall design, conduct and completion of the impact evaluations in a timely fashion
• 20 years experience in using of participatory techniques to manage change within organisations (to establish new values, principles, attitudes, systems, structures, behaviours and performance levels) and at the community interface (for collecting/ disseminating information and facilitating poverty reduction strategies).
• Active in the development of food security strategies which targeted the vulnerable, especially women and children, with intervention outcomes that sought to improve the local maternal health status.
• Donor co-ordination/ SWAp/ Stakeholder incorporation; has worked with a complex combination of development partners from the donor, public, commercial and NGO sectors, to deliver common objectives related to partnership working, resource leverage and capacity development aimed at improving standards of living for beneficiaries in targeted geographical locations.
• Pro active in gender and disability mainstreaming, empowering marginalised beneficiaries to become active stakeholders and facilitating pro poor resource allocation to sustainably enhance quality of life for those most in need.
• An accomplished communicator/ communications planner, facilitating extensive inter agency cooperation and stakeholder dialog
