Professional Experience:
Over the past 25 years, I have worked as a maternal/child and reproductive health technical expert with the World Bank, USAID, UNICEF, and UNFPA, as well as with international agencies such as Family Care International, Save The Children, John Snow Inc., the Population Council and Population Services International (PSI).
My areas of expertise are in the design, implementation and evaluation of hospital and community-based interventions for maternal and newborn health. I have worked with Ministries of Health (Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tanzania) at district, provincial and national levels on health systems strengthening activities (health provider training, clinic and hospital renovation, supply chain and commodities, health information, capacity-building for district management teams). I have also worked with multi-lateral (UNICEF, UNFPA bilateral (USAID) and international agencies and local partners on community-based behavior change communication and social mobilization in the public and private sector. I have also worked on large, complex impact evaluations of country-wide MNCH programs in Sub-Saharan Africa for USAID.
I am deeply committed to improving the access and quality of health services for women and children and I have the expertise to help support governmental and non-governmental agencies on developing and monitoring evidence-based and research-driven strategies.
